Australian Lions Club District 201Q4
FROM THE COAST TO THE FAR OUTBACK
Australian Lions District 201Q4 Lions are members of Lions Clubs International, the service organisation dedicated to the idea that the men and women who live in a community are in the best position to know who needs help and why.
Together our Lions Clubs make up the world’s largest service organisation, with 1.4 million members serving local communities in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Our association is both non-political and non-sectarian.
Australian Lions District 201Q4 covers most of Central Queensland. It encompasses the Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay, North and South Burnett Regions, Callide Valley, Capricorn Coast, the Gem and Coal fields and all the way out to the Central West covering Longreach and Winton.
Our District has new members joining every month. The more members we have, the more people we can help. You can too! Membership enquiries are most welcome.
Where there’s a NEED, There’s a LION
Our 1.4 million men and women support a wide range of youth projects. We have a special interest in eye health for school children and diabetes awareness. We support many different medical research projects with a special interest in children’s cancer. We provide and maintain local community facilities such as Lions parks and run a wide range of environmental projects. We provide scholarships and bursaries to schools and support families in distress with a special interest in drought relief. Financially backed by our Lions Foundations we can provide immediate assistance in time of disaster and then provide ongoing support for locally managed rebuilding projects post disaster.
We enjoy good company. We have fun in our clubs. And when we meet fellow Lions for the first time, we treat them like old friends. We are kind and generous people who want to help.
Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller. And communities get better. That’s because we help where help is needed – in our own communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and energy. We meet the needs of our local communities and the world. With 46,000 clubs in every corner of the globe, no matter where you go, there’s probably a Lions club nearby. Interested in becoming a member?
